The portable, globally recognised method for measuring the slip and skid resistance of wet and dry surfaces — engineered, machined and assembled by us, and backed for its working life.
Both kits are supplied calibrated, certified and ready to use in a wheeled flight case.
The Pendulum measures the frictional resistance between a rubber slider on the end of a swinging arm and the surface under test — giving flooring and highway engineers a routine way to check slip and skid resistance, wet or dry.
The device is placed on the surface, levelled, and the height of the arm's suspension is set against a setting gauge. The arm is released from horizontal and swings down until the slider contacts the surface. As the slider travels a fixed distance, the arm slows and a pointer marks the highest point of the arc.
The pointer is read on a scale graduated 0 to 150 — the Pendulum Test Value (PTV), indicating resistance to slipping and skidding. All Pendulums require annual calibration to remain compliant.
An essential part of risk-management policy across flooring, highways, product development and investigation work.
